From Crayola and Playdough, to painting, sculpting, and graphic design, Julie's life has always been truly defined by art. Her creative mind excites at the potential of a fresh canvas- be it on an easel or computer screen. While beginning her studies at the University of Guelph, she quickly uncovered a passion for graphic design and moved to Toronto to study at the International Academy of Design. She graduated with top honours in 2003 and was awarded "Best Computer Illustrator" in her program. Her creative flair has since coloured the works of Toronto's Boardwalk Media, and Take Note Designs, as well as Montréal's Publicis, Réalisations, and BCP. She developed a strong portfolio working with clients such as Garnier, ALDO Shoes, Canada Revenue Agency, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, RONA, Lancome, CN Railway, Tourism Québec, Environment Canada, Couche Tard, etc. While living in Montréal, Julie returned to traditional Fine Arts studies at Concordia University, majoring in studio art, and graduated with honors in 2009 with a BFA. She had her first solo exhibition in Montréal in the summer of 2008. Julie passionately continues both her studio art practice and freelance work in Toronto and Montréal, always finding a new blank canvas to fill with her colourful personality. |
